Cynthia Ward awarded the

“Flora Cameron Award for Excellence in Practice”

A Special Nationwide Centennial Award for 2009

The Flora Cameron Award for Excellence in Practice was set up as a memorial to Miss Flora Cameron who died in January 1966. The New Zealand Nurses Organisation, approached its centenary in November 2009 and they had a special nationwide Centennial Award ‘The Flora Cameron Award for Excellence in Practice’ for which Cynthia was nominated and won.

Cynthia impressed the committee with her learning, knowledge and the ability to approach nursing care from the patient and their family/whanau’s perspective. The award was presented at the Centennial Celebrations in Wellington late September 2009.
