True Colours is a Charitable Trust and is entirely reliant on donations, sponsors and community trust grants for its ongoing sustainability.

It is through the generosity of the community that we have been able to see over 863 families in the eight years we have been operating.

Our grateful thanksto our recent sponsors

  • The True Colours Charitable Trust is extremely grateful for any donations we receive, no matter how small.  If you would like to help us by making a donation please click here.
  • True Colours raises funds through the sale of Entertainment Books.  These books provide amazing discounts at a huge number of restaurants and cafes, attractions, sport and leisure activities, retailers and accommodation around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.  At only $55 each these books pay for themselves in only a couple of transactions.  Please contact True Colours during business hours to order, on (07) 839 4800.
  • A donation of $412 to True Colours Charitable Trust will enable support for one rural child and their family for one whole month.  A donation of $409 will enable support for one urban child and their family for one whole month.  This includes the costs of home and hospital visits.
  • A donation of $1478 will provide for the operational costs for True Colours Charitable Trust for one entire day.
  • True Colours is a registered charity for Payroll Giving.  This method of making donations has two fantastic advantages - an instant tax reduction for the donor as well as a reliable source of income for True Colours.  For further information please click here.
  • True Colours has been fortunate to receive a number of funding grants to equip a play therapy area, art area and sandtray therapy area.  However, we need to ensure  the children and families we support continue to have the best resources available when working through their illness, grief and bereavement.
  • Music therapy is an important part of our work with children.  Good quality instruments and sound equipment are essential when working with neurologically challenged children.  We endeavour to use every aspect of sensory stimulation in order to access children's emotional expression.
  • Home visits are an important part of making sure children and families are supported in the best possible environment.  The cost of travel and vehicle maintenance is ongoing.
  • Our professional team are in demand to present to conferences and workshops nationally and the cost of traveling and accommodation is a constant challenge to fund.
  • Ongoing professional development is essential in maintaining best practice and the quality of care required when working with children and families.  Training workshops and continuing education in the fields of counselling, psychotherapy, palliative care and advanced nursing practice are all expensive components of our budget.
