Westpac Waikato Business Awards Winner 2019

November 2019, saw True Colours win the Not for Profit Category at the Westpac Waikato Business Awards.

We were incredibly humbled and honoured to win the award on the night and want to say thank you to our fellow finalists Kia Puawai and Soda Inc for the amazing work they do in the community.

It was the second time True Colours had entered the awards, making it to the finals in 2012.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the awards night and it was great to see so many of the businesses that have supported us in some way over the years in the audience as well.  It is only through the amazing support of our community over the past 15 years that we can now be in this position to win such an award.

Entering the awards, gave us a chance to step away from the day to day running of the organisation and consider the bigger picture. It was also a good chance to have external business people look at our trust and see where there may be gaps, or also acknowledge the things we are doing well.

From the judges:
“The growth of True Colours is remarkable and the judges really liked the practical set up of the support “centre”. The strong alignment developed with other support agencies and health providers shows the key focus of the organisation on being the children and their family centric.”

“The very personal approach of the way the office is set up is remarkable.”

A big thank you to judges Dick Breukink and Raewyn McPhillips who spent time with us learning about True Colours.  We would also like to extend our thanks to Westpac and the Waikato Chamber of Commerce.
